Automatic Depalletizing of Full Crates

The Cosmec DIC-900 automatically removes full crates and boxes from stacked pallets and transfers them individually onto a discharge conveyor. This ensures a consistent and controlled flow of crates to subsequent processing equipment without requiring operators to manually unload each pallet.

The machine is suitable for pallets measuring 800 x 1,200 mm, 1,000 x 1,200 mm and 1,200 x 1,200 mm, with a maximum pallet height of 2,400 mm. Depending on the required level of automation, pallets can be placed directly on the floor or automatically supplied using an optional chain conveyor system. This flexibility allows the installation to be adapted to the available space, production capacity and existing internal logistics.

Operation and Dual Pallet Functionality

Once a full pallet has been positioned, the DIC-900 automatically begins the depalletizing process. The machine removes the crates in a controlled sequence and places them onto the discharge conveyor, which transports them individually to the next machine in the processing line.

For increased operational flexibility, the DIC-900 can be equipped with two pallet positions, one on either side of the discharge conveyor. Through the touchscreen control system, the operator can select whether crates are taken from the left pallet, the right pallet or a combination of both.

An optional crate mixing function allows the machine to process a selected number of crates from one pallet before switching to the other. This is particularly useful when different product batches or crate flows need to be supplied to the same processing line in a controlled sequence.

The machine uses Siemens frequency inverters to ensure smooth acceleration, controlled movements and quiet operation, even at high processing speeds.

For example, the DIC-900 can be combined with a Cosmec ROV-600 crate tipper. In this configuration, the depalletizer removes the full crates from the pallet and transfers them via a conveyor to the crate tipper, which empties the product into the next processing or packaging stage.

The system can also be expanded with automatic pallet transport, additional conveyors and other crate handling equipment. This makes the DIC-900 suitable for both standalone applications and fully automated production lines.

The DIC-900 is equipped with an advanced control system featuring a 7-inch ASEM touchscreen with a Windows operating system, a Siemens PLC and Siemens frequency inverters.
