Net packers and net clippers are used to pack products in netlon bags. The netlon packages are closed by use of a clip or they are sealed together by use of heat. Using the net packaging, fruit and vegetables, such as onions, brussels sprouts, garlic, pepper and citrus, can be transported conveniently. A reason to go for a net packaging could be that the packed product is able to breathe. This is an advantage compared to packing by use of film. In addition, netlon is a relatively cheap way of packing.

How netlon packing machines work for vegetables and fruit

The functioning of the netlon packing machines is as follows. The products are usually weighed first, or counted, by use of a weighing machine. Subsequently, the vegetables and fruit go into the netlon via a tube. The net is then closed with a clip or the nets are sealed together by use of heat. Some machines can also immediately fit the packaging with a wine glass label or other label.

Clippers for onions and garlic

In addition to onions and garlic, clippers are also regularly used for packing citrus fruit, brussels sprouts, peppers, avocados and various other vegetables. The netlon clipper packs the products individually in a netlon packaging and seals it with a metal clip. The packaging is provided with a wine glass label on which the date or code can be printed. 

Girsac and Vertbag packing machines for citrus 

The Girsac packaging is closed by sealing the two netflon strips at the top and bottom. This makes the product more visible in case of the Girsac packaging, without any loss of quality for the packaging. The sealing makes a metal clip, to close the packaging, unnecessary. The label and handle ensure fine transparency and communication on the shelf. Among others, oranges, tangerines, lemons and other citrus fruits are packed by use of a Girsac machine. Other types of net packing machines are used to create similar packaging, such as Vertbag, Girplus, etc. 

Net packing machine for punnets and trays for fruit 

Punnet packing machines pack vegetables and fruit in plastic punnets with a handle that can be printed on by means of thermo-transfer pressure. The punnets are fed into the net packing machines via a horizontal feed belt or -chain, where the net bag is sealed. This type of machine is used for stone fruits, kiwis and pears, among others.
