How Dosing Bunkers Work

The product is deposited into the dosing bunkers from cubic crates using a crate tipper or via conveyor belts. The conveyor belt then continuously takes the bottom layer of the product, while the upper layers roll or slide back, ensuring a consistent flow.

Most dosing bunkers have an endless conveyor belt and a soft inner lining to prevent product damage. The speed of the dosing bunker is often frequency-controlled or mechanically adjustable. Some dosing bunkers come with additional features such as a shaking mechanism (vibrating head), roller set, electronic sensor, or remote control.

Applications of Dosing Bunkers

• Dosing bunkers are designed to evenly and systematically release products to the next step in the processing line.

In some cases, both functions are combined in one machine. In that case, a conveyor belt is added to the receiving bunker, allowing it to function as both a storage and dosing bunker.
