At Taks palletisers for boxes and crates can be distinguished between two different categories; plate palletisers and pinch palletisers.

A pinch palletiser, also called a clamp palletiser, is a palletiser that uses an automatic pinch arm to place the boxes on the pallet.

With plate palletisers, a stacking pattern is created on a plate by layer and the machine then fills the pallet layer by layer. By stacking the boxes or crates two high and feeding them onto the plate, an even higher capacity can be achieved. In addition to the high capacity of the sheet palletiser, this type is also better suited to heavier boxes and harder-to-stack folding crates.

For example, vine tomatoes are weighed in the packing warehouse to the desired weight per box or repacked into small packages, such as flow-packed tomatoes on a tray.
