About second-hand Palletizers

A palletiser is a machine that automatically stacks cardboard boxes, plastic crates or bags onto a pallet. This machine can generally be adjusted to stack boxes or pallets of a number of different sizes. The advantage to automatic palletisation is that it saves labour, as these machines allow the last operation at the end of a grading or packaging line to be automated. In the horticulture sector, palletisers for boxes and crates are used by growers of tomatoes, sweet peppers and cucumbers. Palletisers for bags are more often found at arable farms where potatoes, seed potatoes, onions and carrots are grown.

Are you looking for a used palletizer?

The options and specifications of the various used palletizers vary from one machine to another. When selecting a suitable machine it is important that the palletizer is able to process the same size crates and pallets as those used by you. Many machines can handle a number of pre-programmed stacking patterns for specific sizes of boxes and pallets. Additionally, palletisers can be equipped with extra functionalities, such as the inflow of boxes, the automatic supply of empty pallets or the outflow of full pallets. There are also machines that work in combination with strapping machines, slatting machines and pallet wrappers. Additionally, the maximum load or capacity may vary.

There are two types of palletisers:

Push-Type palletisers

The boxes in a palletising machine are normally carried on a forming platform and are then pushed off on the pallet. This is why this machine is commonly referred to as a push type / platform palletiser. A stacking pattern is created on the platform and then are pushed off on the pallet per layer, after which the machine builds up the pallet layer by layer. As a result, this type of machine has a higher capacity than a robot palletiser, which moves each item onto a pallet individually. An even higher capacity can be obtained by feeding boxes or crates onto the plate stacked in two layers. Whether this is possible depends on the machine and the weight of the boxes.

Robot palletizers

A robotic palletizer, also called a clamp palletiser, makes use of an robotic clamping arm to put the products onto the pallet. The robot palletiser can get a better grip on products in more flexible packaging.

In short: a palletising machine will save you lots of labour, allowing you to deploy your valuable personnel for other purposes within your organisation.
