About second-hand Pot plant buffer conveyor belts

Buffer belts are often used in greenhouses, mainly for potted plants. As the name suggests, buffer belts "buffer" the potted plants before they are transported to the greenhouse. Moving potted plants individually to the greenhouse after they are filled is highly labor-intensive. To expedite this process, pot forks are utilized. Pot forks can transport rows of pots simultaneously. In order to align the pots precisely to fit into the pot fork, pot plant buffer belts are employed.

What is a Buffer Belt?

A buffer belt is a wide conveyor belt on which potted plants are "buffered". After filling, the pots are accumulated and aligned so that the forklift with pot forks can carry the entire batch at once.

Buffer belts are available for separate purchase, with or without a pusher. Potted plant buffer belts with a pusher are used to set up rows of pots with adequate spacing between them for transportation. Separate buffer belts can be used to expand existing buffer belt installations.

Buffer Belt with Pusher

As mentioned, buffer belts with pushers are employed to set up potted plants in rows, forming an arrangement that the pot fork can transport to the greenhouse in one go.

Potted plant buffer belts with pushers often operate electrically, eliminating the need for compressed air. Additionally, they can be fully adjusted from start to finish using frequency controllers to suit your specific requirements. You can adjust the quantity of pots per row, the spacing between pots, and the distance between rows to precisely match your pot fork.

In addition to used buffer belts, at Duijndam Machines, we also offer new buffer belts with pushers that are custom-made to your specifications. This ensures that the machine always meets your needs.

Pot Forks

To fully utilize the operation of a buffer belt with a pusher, you need a pot fork to distribute the buffered pots. Pot forks come in various sizes, differing in the number of rows from left to right and in depth. The spacing and size between pots can often be adjusted. Therefore, it's essential to choose a pot fork that matches your overall needs in terms of dimensions, as the spacing between the prongs can often be adjusted later.

You can find all transport and distribution forks here.

Well-Known Brands of Potted Plant Buffer Belts

Buffer belts are widely used in greenhouses, resulting in high demand. To meet this demand, various suppliers offer similar solutions. At Duijndam Machines, we often have buffer belts from Martin Stolze, Heto, and Willburg in our inventory. These manufacturers, with their years of experience in greenhouse machinery, have a good understanding of what growers need, which is reflected in their buffer belts.
