About second-hand Potted plant conveyors

Potted plant conveyors are used as a portable internal transport system for potted plants at tree nurseries. These conveyor belt systems can be used indoors in greenhouses as well as outside.

A key feature of a potted plant conveyor is an aluminium frame with a standard length of 6 metres, in combination with a narrow width (15cm - 30cm). Their length and the light-weight material used allow these conveyors to easily be moved from one location to another.

Interlocking potted plant conveyors

There are two types of conveyor belt systems for potted plants: stand-alone models with a built-in motor and interlocking conveyors that can be linked, together with a number of similar conveyors, to another potted plant conveyor belt that is equipped with its own motor by means of a shaft mounted underneath. You can achieve lengths of up to 50 metres this way, driven by a single motor. All interlocking plant conveyor belts of one and the same make and width can be linked. It is not possible to link conveyor belts of different makes.

This system is a perfect alternative in terms of weight, maintenance and price.

You will find our current offering of Javo, Stolze, Willburg and Wevab potted plant conveyors for greenhouses and nurseries below.

Frequently asked questions about Plant conveyor

What is the difference between a coupled and a motorized plant conveyor belt?

A coupled plant conveyor belt is powered by one central motor that drives several belts through a shaft. A motorized belt has its own motor. Coupled systems are lighter, easier to maintain, and more cost-efficient for longer conveyor lines.

Can plant conveyor belts be used outdoors?

Yes, aluminum-frame conveyor belts are suitable for both indoor and outdoor use, such as on container fields or loading areas. However, storing them dry after use is recommended to extend their lifespan.

Can conveyor belts from different brands be connected together?

No, only conveyor belts from the same brand and with the same belt width can be connected. Different manufacturers often use unique coupling and drive systems.

What is the standard length of a plant conveyor belt?

Most plant conveyor belts have a standard length of 6 meters and a belt width between 15 and 30 cm. By connecting multiple belts, a total length of up to 40 meters can be achieved.

Which plant conveyor belt brands are the most popular?

Commonly used brands include Javo, Stolze, Martin Stolze, Tapigliss, Viscon, and Wevab. These brands are known for their reliable drives, durable construction, and long service life.

How should I maintain my plant conveyor belt?

Clean the belt regularly and check the drive, bearings, and belt tension. Lightly lubricate moving parts and store the belt in a dry place to prevent wear.

Are used plant conveyor belts inspected before sale?

Yes, all machines are inspected and tested before sale to ensure they are ready for use.

How do I choose the right belt width for my application?

The right width depends on plant type and pot size. Narrow belts (15–20 cm) suit small pots or trays, while wider belts (25–30 cm) provide better stability for larger plants.
