Pre-sorting

Pre-sorting is often done before the harvest is stored. Pre-sorting happens with the help of a pre-sorter, which can sort products like Brussels sprouts, flower bulbs, or potatoes. The pre-sorting process often involves removing undersized (too small) products. However, there are also machines capable of sorting oversized products.

Sorting undersized and oversized products

As mentioned, pre-sorters that remove undersized products are widely used. This means that too-small products are removed before being stored with regular items. This saves space and time, as pre-sorting is often more efficient beforehand than afterward.

In addition to pre-sorters that remove undersized products, there are also pre-sorters that can sort oversized products. This can be particularly useful if you receive a higher price per unit or kilogram for large specimens.
