In the Netherlands, for example, cut flowers are grown in heated greenhouses and in the open field. But there are also flower varieties that are grown in the open field or in an unheated greenhouse, such as peonies, daffodils, hyacinths, goldenrods, gladioli, dahlias and sunflowers. The term summer flowers is used here for flowers that are grown outdoors in a short season. Carnations, alstroemerias, freesias, bouvardias, gerberas, anthuriums, lisianthus, large-flowered roses, amaryllis, hydrangeas, chrysanthemums and orchids largely come from the greenhouse.

In addition, many flowers are imported from Kenya, Ethiopia, Colombia and Ecuador. Many of these flowers come together at the flower auction of Flora Holland in Aalsmeer or Naaldwijk, after which they are largely exported.

We have a continuously changing stock of used machines for floriculture. Our range includes various flower sorting machines and flower bunching machines. These sorting machines are suitable for uniform bunches and, for example, for sorting flowers by length. We have Havatec, Bercomex and Jamafa sorting machines. The sorting methods are based on various techniques, such as sensors, colour cameras, infrared radiation and sometimes even X-ray technology.

Defoliators for flowers

The flower defoliators that are suitable for removing leaves from your flower stems. With the defoliators, the flowers are one step closer to being ready for sale. After cutting, defoliating and binding, the flowers are ready to go.
