When a cup is positioned directly above the planter, it opens at the bottom, allowing the plant to fall into the planter, which then places it into the seedbed.

The carousel is manually fed by one or more workers. This is done by placing the tray plants into the rotating carousel cups one by one. Each time a cup is emptied above the planter, it can be refilled with a new soil block.
