Extremely accurate (electronic) weighing is achieved through the use of special sorting trays, patenbted in many countries. These are made in such a form that the shape of the cucumber and its positionon the tray has no influence on the accuracy of the weighing. 

The Aweta GS sorting machine is controlled by a special easy-to-operate computer, specifically develeopd by the firm for that purpose. Changing over to other sorting program demands merely pressure on a button only. A great advantage is the specific weight grade which can be distributed over a maximum of four outlets, whereby the better distribution of work becomes possible. For various forms of sorting, thirty different programs are available, which can be set up in only a few mintues. 

Optimal capacity during sorting

Manufacturers of cucumber grading machines such as Aweta usually supply specifications about the maximum capacity of their machines. The capacity of a standard Aweta GS cucumber sorting machine is between 5,000 and 10,800 cups per hour. While faster machines have a capacity of about 18,000 cups per hour. A constant supply and dosing of cucumbers is necessary to actually reach this capacity. This can only be realised with the help of a good-functioning internal conveyor system in combination with a destacking system.
