Operation of cucumber shrink wrappers

Cucumber shrink wrapping machines from Christiaens, Aweta and Vito all work according to a similar principle. Cucumbers are laid on a line shaft roller conveyor on the bottom layer of foil. The top layer of foil is laid across the cucumber in front of the wrapping beam. The wrapping beam cuts the foil to size and the cucumber then passes through the hot air shrink tunnel. This results in a vacuum wrapped cucumber. The combined wrapping and shrink machines for cucumbers usually have a maximum capacity of 6,000 items per hour. Preheating the wrapping machine takes approx. 10 minutes.

The cucumber sealing machine can work alone as well as in combination before or after a cucumber sorter. The cucumber sealer can be supplied with a sticker machine and a turntable.

As well as cucumbers, other vegetable such as leeks, carrots and cabbages can also be wrapped by these machines. The distance between the rollers can be adjusted to the requirements of the product to be packed. Flow pack machines are used for flow packing vegetables such as peppers.
