About second-hand Koningsplanter machines

The Alkmaar-based Dutch machine manufacturer Koning developed the Koningsplanter many years ago. The factory was later taken over by Wifo, who currently manufactures and sells Koningsplanters in collaboration with the APH Group. There are various models available, one of which wasdeveloped specifically for planting flower bulbs, onions, shallots and garlic.

The patented Koningsplanter spacing system comprises an effective combination of supply belts and vibrating plates, guaranteeingproblem-free operation and accurate spacing. The settings are easy to adjust and the machine is easy to operate, with a high capacity at a driving speed of 7km/hr.

The planting depth can easily be adjusted. The planting shoe follows the contours of the field by means of a spring. The spring’s pressure is also adjustable.

The Koningsplanter is available with two covering systems. One of these systems useslittle ridging discs to move the soil back to form a small ridge over the tubers. The other covering system presses the tubers into the soil by means of a press roller, after which scrapers are used to cover them with a shallow layer of soil.

Koningsplanter planting machines come in a variety of widths and for a variety of rows. The preferred machine for planting garlic, for example, is a four-row model with a row distance of 30cm and a track width of 1.5m.
