HARVESTING EGGPLANTS

Eggplants are often harvested by hand, where pickers cut the ripe eggplants from the stem and place them in a crate on a pipe rail cart or other types of harvesting carts. They then proceed to the sorting machines. At the sorting stage, the eggplants are manually taken out of the crate and placed on the cups of the sorting machine.

EGGPLANT SORTING MACHINES

Eggplant is a delicate product that is easily damaged. Therefore, it is important to prevent any damage during the sorting process. The sorting machines are designed with limited drop heights and aim to separate the products as much as possible to avoid damaging each other.

When sorting eggplants, it is common to sort them by weight. The sorting machines are equipped with load cells beneath the cups, which can weigh the eggplants with an accuracy of +/- 2 grams. Some sorting machines also incorporate a camera system for size-based sorting.

EGGPLANT PACKAGING MACHINES

Eggplants can be packaged in various ways, such as using a flow pack machine or a shrink wrapping machine like a cucumber sealing machine. During the sorting process, the eggplants are directly packaged, including the appropriate labeling. After packaging, the eggplants are placed on a buffer conveyor, which automatically ensures the correct packing weight for the entire box.
